One of the joys of owning a business is deciding how its going to look. Its not always easy to choose what colors / themes will create the best atmosphere (especially for the aesthetically-blind like me) and there can be big challenges when working in a older building like ours, but the appearance of a restaurant is an important part of the overall experience. It’s also fun to do!
We want to create a simple yet comfortable atmosphere and we plan on doing this renovation in phases. Our first step was to fix the paint that was peeling on the roof. We chose a rich brown color to create a more uniform tone for the restaurant overall. In addition to this base our next step is to highlight the brick and brown trim with accents on the exterior of the building. Plus, you will notice that some of our decoration has/will be changed. Decor is a simple item that doesn’t have a direct impact on the service or food, but we want to bring
a since of modern Japanese culture to enhance the dinning room. (I particularly like the Star Trek II poster we have from the Japanese release-but, then, I’ve always been a Treky!)
We think that, as everything comes together, it will give our building a new and better visual identity. And we are excited about the new look coming to Lucky Samurai 🙂
Last but not least, we would like to give a BIG thanks to all the great people at Lowe’s and Sherwin Williams that always make any kind of project so much easier!
